Masero began seriously pursuing the art of choreographing during his time at Ballet Memphis. He was commissioned to create two pieces for Ballet Memphis' Interior Works program “La Follia” in 2016 and "At the Ballet" in 2017. Alongside his responsibilities at Ballet Memphis, Masero taught regularly and choreographed two full-length productions for the Dance Academy of Bartlett, in Tennessee. n the summers of 2018 and 2019, Masero and his wife were invited to perform in Northwest Florida Ballet's Ballet at Twilight Gala, where he choreographed two pas de duexs, "Tintinnare" and "Forced Perspective" respectively. He received his choreographic break at Atlanta Ballet during the pandemic when Artistic Director, Gennadi Nedvigin turned in house for choreographic talent. “Teneo Integrum” was his creation for Atlanta Ballet’s Silver Lining program in 2021, and was the work that garnered him the title of a “beautifully musical dance maker” by ARTSATL. “Schubertiada” came to life in the spring of Atlanta Ballet’s 2021-2022 season and featured an all-male corps de ballet, and marked his first large-scale commission for one of the nation’s top 12 companies. “Schubertiada” received great acclaim from critics and audiencegoers alike. “Querencia,” Masero’s third commission for the company, premiered at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in March of 2024. His latest creation received praise for his lovely, yet daring partnering, even among the corps de ballet.
